FindMyIP is a small independent project run by a single maintainer. We do not have a customer support team or a help desk, but we read every message we receive and try to respond to all reasonable inquiries within a few business days.

What to Include in Your Message

If you are reporting a problem with the tool, please include as much of the following information as you can: the browser and operating system you are using, the approximate time the problem occurred, what you were trying to do, what happened instead of what you expected, and any error messages shown either on the page or in your browser's developer console. This information makes problems much faster to diagnose and fix.

If you are reporting an accuracy issue with the speed test or port checker, please also include a comparison reading from another tool such as Speedtest.net or canyouseeme.org performed at the same time on the same device. This helps determine whether the issue is specific to FindMyIP or reflects a real network condition.

Feature Requests

We welcome suggestions for new features or improvements to existing ones. Particularly useful are suggestions tied to a specific use case — for example, "I would use a DNS lookup feature to verify split-horizon DNS configurations" tells us much more than "please add DNS lookup." Not every request will be implemented, but we read all of them and they influence the direction of future development.

For media inquiries, partnership proposals, or commercial licensing questions, please use the contact email above and clearly indicate the nature of your inquiry in the subject line so it can be prioritized appropriately.

Abuse Reports

If you believe the FindMyIP service is being used to scan or attack your network, please contact us with the timestamp, the IP address apparently performing the scans, and any relevant log excerpts. The port checker is rate-limited and enforces same-IP scanning only, which prevents most forms of abuse, but we take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

Response Time

Most messages receive a response within two to five business days. For urgent issues such as security vulnerabilities or active abuse, we try to respond within 24 hours. Please be patient if you do not hear back immediately — this is a small operation and responses are written individually, not automated.
